El presente documento resume las investigaciones realizadas para el estudio del establecimiento
de un proyecto para producción de camarón orgánico en Honduras, con el objetivo de contribuir
en la mejora de las condiciones actuales del sector acuícola mediante la búsqueda de nuevos
segmentos de mercado y diversificación de nuevos productos con valor ecológico ya que,
consumidores de mariscos de la unión europea tienen preferencia por productos cultivados con
técnicas ambientalmente amigables (orgánico, ecológico y natural). En estos países existe una
creciente demanda por estos productos debido al crecimiento demográfico y por la incorporación
de nuevos consumidores a este segmento de mercado. Como valor agregado al estudio se incorpora
una segunda certificación a los productos (ASC) adicional a las normas de calidad e inocuidad
exigidos por el mercado europeo. En el proyecto se propone la producción de 337 mil Kg anuales
(camarón entero) en Finca Granjas Marinas del Sur S.A. ubicada en Choluteca. Para determinar la
factibilidad financiera se utilizaron los principales indicadores financieros como ser TIR y VAN.
Se ha concluido que la propuesta en un escenario base es viable para su ejecución pues se obtuvo
una TIR de 27.6% y un VAN de L 66,670,529.
This document summarizes the research carried out for the study of a project for the production of organic shrimp in Honduras, with the aim of helping to improve the condition of the aquaculture sector through the search for new market segments and the diversification of new products with ecological value, because the consumers of the European Union have preference for products grown with environmentally friendly techniques (organic, ecological and natural). In these countries there is an increasing demand for these products due to the demographic growth and the integration of new users to this market segment. As additional content to the study, a second product certification (ASC) is added to the quality and safety standards required by the European market. The project proposes the production of 337 thousand Kg per year (whole shrimp) in the farm Granjas Marinas del Sur S.A. located in Choluteca. To determine the financial feasibility, the main financial indicators are used, such as IRR and NPV. It has been concluded that the proposal in this scenario is viable for its execution, since an IRR of 27.6% and a NPV of L 66,670,528.76 were obtained.
