Perceptive analysis of the current tourism management of MSMEs in the region of San Pedro Sula

dc.descriptionThe need to face new challenges, in addition to globalization, has caused companies around the world to become more competitive. In this context, an investigation was conducted in the micro, small and medium companies (MSMEs) in the field of hospitality in the city of San Pedro Sula. It is important to understand that competitiveness is a new problem in developing countries due to the different changes each country faces. These challenges are accentuated by the lack of knowledge of the competitive levels. The overall objective of this study was to determine the correlation between these variables - quality, distribution channel, price, services and technology –and competitiveness in the hospitality area. The results show that the levels of competitiveness are: quality 75%, price 75%, distribution channels 70%, price 79%, services, and technology 76%. The conclusion is that the level of competitiveness is regular. The area with the lowest percentages was the micro companies with levels from bad to regular.
dc.descriptionLa necesidad de afrontar nuevos retos, además de la globalización, han hecho que las empresas de todo el mundo necesiten ser competitivas. En este contexto se realizó una investigación en las empresas micro, pequeñas y mediana (MIPYME) del rubro hotelero en la ciudad de San Pedro Sula. Se debe entender que la competitividad es un problema nuevo en los países en vías de desarrollo, debido a que cada país enfrenta diferentes desafíos que se acentúan al desconocer el nivel de competitividad. El objetivo general de este trabajo fue determinar la correlación entre las variables: calidad, precio, canal de distribución, servicios y tecnología, con la competitividad del rubro comercial hotelero. En relación con los resultados que se obtuvieron; la calidad, canal de distribución, precio, servicios, y tecnología, tienen un nivel de 75%, 75%, 70%, 79% y 76%, respectivamente, en relación con la competitividad. Concluyendo en que, el nivel de competitividad es regular. Siendo las micro empresas de este rubro, las que resultaron con un bajo nivel: de malo a regular.
