El presente estudio tiene la finalidad de realizar una comparativa de factibilidad en el contexto hondureño de la implementación del método alternativo de construcción “viviendas prefabricadas”. El objetivo principal es determinar la viabilidad del uso de métodos alternativos de construcción de viviendas en Honduras, comparando el método tradicional de construcción contra las viviendas prefabricadas, a través del análisis de los tiempos de ejecución, calidad y costos del proyecto. Como instrumento de investigación se utilizaron la entrevista a expertos y encuestas a profesionales del área de la construcción. Mediante el análisis de las respuestas obtenidas de ambos instrumentos se concluyó que si existe una diferencia significativa entre ambos métodos de construcción. No obstante, el método alternativo de viviendas prefabricadas puede resultar más conveniente en casos de emergencia por algún desastre natural.
The purpose of this study is to carry out a feasibility comparison in the Honduran context of the implementation of the alternative construction method "prefabricated housing". The main objective is to determine the feasibility of the use of alternative methods of housing construction in Honduras, comparing the traditional method of construction against prefabricated housing, through the analysis of execution times, quality and costs of the project. Interviews with experts and surveys of construction professionals were used as research instruments. By analyzing the responses obtained from both instruments, it was concluded that there is a significant difference between the two construction methods. However, the alternative method of prefabricated housing may be more convenient in cases of emergency due to a natural disaster.
